This is a history of Sprite wars written by Storm and Commander Evil. It is rather dated and in need of updating.

(This article was made around 2010. Dhalo began updating this article as of December 4th, 2019. He has rewritten sections from the Foreword all the way up to First Great War, and is now writing the events of the Second Great War. BacktotheFryingpan is trying to bring this up to speed as well.)

Foreword by Commander Evil[]

"CE here, using input from various sources, I've decided to write a basic, bare-bones and non-biased history of the first Sprite Wars. From the first comic in 2004, to the Corvolt Imperium's invasion, to the execution of the heroes of Mobius, the entire thing has evolved into an organism of its own, with it's roots being based off many ideas. It's been one helluva a time, and through all the bloodshed, violence and general amyhem, it seems one thing has stood above all else; one single factor has made this the great game that is it: Imagination. With all the snowmen and aliens and everything else, its a wonder we haven't been granted the rights to a movie! (lol copyright)

Well I guess I'll shuddup now and write the actual history, but before I go, here's some words from the founder of SW..."

Talking with Storm[]

CommanderEvil: Tell me, when did the idea strike you?

Storm the Fox: On the Metal Slug Database. Frankly, we all had it coming. Everyone was making sprites of specialized soldiers and private armies. I thought: "You know, it would be awesome if people took these armies and fought with them."

Commander Evil: How long has SW been going? Like, how many years has it been going?

Storm the Fox: Wow, since 2004, I believe. It was my first year at college. I remember, between classes, I would go see how the war was going at the Database. It caught on like wildfire. That first Sprite Wars season is what I consider the purest form of Sprite Wars. We were all experimenting in the game, and you had a lot of crazy armies. Aliens, snowmen, Sonic characters, human armies, everything.

Commander Evil: Do you have any regrets?

Storm the Fox: Not really. At the time, we were making up the rules as we went along. WMDs were popular, troop spam was a problem, but it was one of the few times where the humour and rampancy of the Sprite Wars made for an interesting mix. Before long, the game evolved from randomness into factions, and we made our decisions on which ones were good and which ones were evil.

Commander Evil: What, in your opinion, has made the Sprite Wars such a great and generally awesome past-time?

Storm the Fox: Oh, so many things. The people, the rivalries, the alliances. All the custom sprites that people make to try and get that little extra edge in the conflict. And the humor. A sense of humor plays a good part in the Sprite Wars.

Commander Evil: Alright, one more question. What advice do you have to give to anyone reading this article, what advice for the new and old members alike?

Storm the Fox: Well, for one, war is war, and the story sells it. Yeah, you're going to spend a lot of time fighting, but it's good to make us care for the characters. Or hate them with a burning passion. Also, to all the evil guys out there, being evil is fun, but if taken too far, it's more annoying than menacing. Be methodical and pondering. Don't just do the generic bad thing for the sake of doing bad things. Have a method to your madness.

An Account of the First Great War[]

Pre-War Era[]

The Snowmen[]

The First War started with the grand finale of World War III. The countless battles between Earth and Mars, the Regular Army-Rebellion Wars, and battles against aliens had finally come to an end, or so it seemed.

The Regular Army was all but worn out by the end, and General Morden's army was in tatters. Only the Mobian Alliance, a high tech paramilitary coalition consisting of both humans and Mobians, stood form. They looked to be the only means of defense that Earth had left, and even their resources were drained by the Earth-Mars War.

In the years after WWIII, Earth spread it's influence across the stars, creating new floating colonies in space and on other planets. But even this was not enough. The Mobian Alliance, their allies, the Japanese Defense Force, and the remaining nations had barely enough time to prepare for the onslaught that became the First Great War.

What sparked the greatest of all battles for the Earth is one of the most bizarre in all of Earth's history. It was not any nation or person that instigated the first of these epic wars...

...The enemy were snowmen.

Some say that aliens constructed them, some say their existence was the result of the radioactive fallout from the nuclear weapons used during WWIII. While their origins were never discovered, the snowmen were quite real, and quite armed.

Striking from their bases in the polar regions, the snowmen launched a massive invasion on all of the continents. The Alliance, the JDF and the Regular Army were quickly taken by surprise and found that most of the world was under attack by these ice-y warriors.

A Ptolemaic-induced Problem[]

In the midst of this crisis another threat emerged. The Ptolemaic Army, led by the mysterious and tyrannical Supreme Commander, saw an opportunity. He used his own personal army of specialists to worm his way into the Regular Army and all of the world governments, intending to strike when the time was right.

But the Ptolemaics, a guerilla-style army with numbers, technology and a fierce loyalty to the Supreme Commander, took it upon themselves to launch their own crusade against the snowmen, the Regular Army and the Alliance.

The War Heats Up[]

The unofficial Ptolemaics were very haphazard, targeting anything of military importance, to the point that their methods were too predictable.

A similar trait showed in the snowmen, who also seemed to target anything of military value to their enemies, even when it was of no strategic importance.

Nevertheless, it became increasingly difficult for the Alliance to fight on two fronts. Mike Rugar, head of the Alliance and hero of the Earth-Mars War, chose to focus his forces against one enemy at a time. His first target was the snowmen, which the Alliance found quite easy to kill.

Much Ado About Snowmen[]

Bullets damaged the snowmen as they did ordinary soldiers, and flamethrowers absolutely devastated them. Their tanks, which were numerous like their troops, quickly fell apart under barrages of conventional missiles and tank shells.

More interestingly, though, was their physiology. Alliance scientists who performed autopsies on fallen snowmen found liquid nitrogen in their systems, and an unknown compound that kept the snowmen from melting prematurely.

The Alliance soon learned how the snowmen replenished their numbers so quickly: the snowmen had special snow-producing machines that created new snowmen soldiers almost instantly, and resurrected fallen troops. So, they pulled out all the stops, destroying many cities that were overwhelmed by snowmen troops through the use of nuclear weapons and orbital bombardments.

The campaign was working, and the constant pressure of the Alliance and the more aggressive Colonel Giko of the JDF was intimidating the snowmen. The Ptolemaics also grew a hatred for the ice-y enemy, and together the three factions brought the snowmen invasion to a halt.

Snowmen Ceasefire[]

In order to stay alive, the snowmen had to mimic Mike Rugar's strategy and focus their resources on battling one enemy at a time. The Ptolemaics were offered a ceasefire, and refused. The Alliance met with snowmen leaders and agreed to a ceasefire so that they may focus on the Ptolemaic threat to their military infrastructure.

This ceasefire was very short lived. Colonel Giko quickly broke the truce by annihilating a whole company of snowmen troops as they returned to the front. Neither the Japanese government nor the Alliance leadership punished him, and the war with the snowmen still resumed, in the Alliance's favor.

The snowmen were forced to retreat back across their conquered territory. Though pummeled on two fronts, they found they weren't alone. Around the time of their withdrawal, a new faction disclosed itself to the world: it was an army of machines led by a man named Archangel M. It was the Angel Arms Defence Force, aka Mecha Army. The faction became one of the snowmen's benefactors by assisting them in their campaign of conquest. The Alliance began suffering heavy losses.

General Morden and the Rebellion Army, after deeming that a ceasefire with the Alliance and Ptolemaics unacceptable, sided with the snowmen. Bolstered by the Rebels and Mecha Army, the snowmen got back on their metaphorical feet.

The Ptolemaics were not doing well, as the high-tech Alliance destroyed much of their conventional equipment. Territories they had taken seemed to be back in Alliance or snowmen hands by the next day. The alliance the Ptolemaic Army forged with the Martians proved foolish, as the Martians turned on them, killing a number of soldiers. Their increasingly apparent failures annoyed the Supreme Commander, who deemed drastic measures must be taken.

The End of the Battles on Earth[]

Alpha Force Entry[]

Soon after the snowmen, Mecha Army and Rebel Army unified, the Alpha Force emerged to join the fight. This military organisation and their high tech navy large army , which used Rebellion weaponry and utilised signature blue helmets, sided with the exhausted Alliance and targeted the Mecha Army.

Though the Mecha Army was indeed numerous and had tech that rivaled the Alliance's, they also had their share of bad luck. Orbital battles against the Alliance's space fleet left their prime fleet in shambles. Their main planet-side base, constructed in desert regions that may have been in North Africa, was occupied by Team Firefox.

Firefox was a human/Mobian group of paramilitary soldiers and arms dealers led by Commander Storm the Fox, who supported the Alliance by providing firearm and equipment. The war arrived on his own doorstep in the form of the Mecha Army.

Rumbling In The Desert[]

Colonel Giko tracked down one of the Mecha Army's desert bases and attacked with an armored company. Archangel saw it coming, and rigged the base to blow. The explosion killed many JSDF troops.

Although successful, Giko soon reassigned himself to other fronts, and failed to remove the Mecha threat in it's entirety. That task was left up to Team Firefox.

Storm led many combat patrols across the desert in pursuit of the Mecha, until they were relieved by the Alpha Force. The Alphas discovered the location of the Mecha Army's primary factory in the sector and destroyed it, forcing the Mechas to completely withdraw from the desert region. Eventually, the Mecha Army withdrew from Earth entirely for the purpose of reconstructing their heavily depleted forces.

The Imperial March[]

The Empire, a mechanised army led by the infammous General Grey, a veteran of the Earth-Mars Wars, began his blitz against the Earth. Even with Alpha Force assisting, the Alliance was stretched to it's limits.

Imperial forces originally planned on assisting the Ptolemaic forces, but like the Martians before them, turned on them for the purpose of pursuing their own agenda. More hot zones appeared across the globe as the Empire's cyborgs began running amok across the scarred planet.

The Regular Army, hopelessly outnumbered, reluctantly joined the Snowmen/Rebel/Mecha alignment. The Alliance's primary target shifted from the unification of strange bedfellows to the Empire itself, and it is said that battles were waged between the Empire and Alliance in every city that still stood.

Metal Mecha Who!?[]

The Mecha Army returned to Earth to continue their invasion. The Empire's leader, General Grey, was in orbit above Earth inside his command ship when his fleet's sensors picked up the approaching Mechas.

Discovering that they had similar plans, the two struck up an alliance of their own with the purpose of conquering the world and replacing it with their own robotic society.

Storm the Fox knew that the Alliance’s fate was in balance and that his team had to join the conflict to save what was left of Earth. Team Firefox mobilised for a full scale conflict, and called their hidden space fleet to Earth.

The fleet became engaged against Mecha/Empire forces in orbit. The Alliance deployed their ace squadron, the Skulls, to assist Firefox. The Empire countered with their own robotic squadrons, but the battle turned toward the Alliance's favor due to Skull Squadron's involvement and the well-executed boarding operations performed by Firefox troops.

The Empire resorted to kamikaze attacks, but the Skulls destroyed the rest of the Empire's fighters and the Imperial-Mecha fleet suffered catastrophic damage. The war on Earth reached it's peak.

Ptolemaic Suicide[]

Alliance forces still fought the snowmen and their allies, and the Ptolomaic Army's strategies still failed miserably. The Supreme Commander had enough and ordered the remaining unofficial Ptolemaic forces on suicide missions against Alliance targets on Earth and Mars.

Some Ptolemaic troops deserted upon hearing the orders, but the rest remained loyal to their Supreme Commander to the very end. They attacked the assigned targets with what strength they had left, aware that retreat was no longer an option.

Though the Alliance was taken by surprise, the Ptolemaic Army's last-ditch attempt was ultimately thwarted. The Supreme Commander withdrew from the fighting to rethink his strategy and create a personal handpicked and specialised army.

The Arrival of the Corvolt Imperium[]

As the war on Earth reached it's peak, the greatest threat ever faced by the Solar System had arrived. An Alliance space station responsible for monitoring the effects of a nearby black hole discovered that a massive object was emerging from it.

Said object was a massive invasion carrier that immediately deployed boarding parties to silence and eliminate the station's crew.

These aliens, genetically altered and twisted humans, were from the Corvolt Imperium, a massive empire that spanned hundreds of star systems. Earth was their primary target, and the massivevely sized and massively slow invasion carrier continued moving through space towards the planet.

The Mobian Emperor[]

The battles on Earth only intensified in the meantime, with humans, Mobians, snowmen and cyborgs all struggling for dominance. The Mobian Empire, which ruled the birthplace of the Mobian race, finally took an interest in the gargantuan conflict.

While the Mobian Empire had strained relations with Earth due to their previous history with humans who had colonised Mobius, which had ultimately resulted in bloodshed and near-genocide of the human colonists, the Emperor still decided to deploy a contingent of troops to assist the Alliance against their enemies.

The Mobian Empire's Imperial Guard consisted of thousnads of clones from the Imaginary Hedgehog project, which copied the ultimate lifeform known as Shadow the Hedgehog. Combined with technology acquired from other wars across the stars, and led by General Sturnn and Commissar Yarrick, they proved a formidable threat to General Grey's Empire and to Archangel's Mechas.

Battle of the North Pole
The Snowmen/Rebel/Regular unification was doing poorly. The Mechas having abandoned them, the Rebel and Regular armies were nearly wiped out from constant Imperial and Alliance attacks. Winter approached, and the snowmen withdrew to their base in the North Pole.

The Aliance, Alpha Force, and Team Firefox gave chase, and the fate of the snowmen was to be decided there.

Meanwhile, the Mechas had noticed the new Mobian Empire threat, and found that the Imaginary Hedgehog soldiers were just as loyal and in many ways more deadly than the cyborgs themselves. Despite this they pushed on, desperate for a victory to emerge from their mass of defeats.

The Mecha Army and Mobian Empire fought head on in a series of intense battles that resulted in the destruction of thousands of mindless soldiers. The snowmen also faced their last stand against the Alliance and Firefox forces.

Mercenary Smackdown in the North[]

A tactical error made by the snowmen leadership arrived in the form of ambushing what they mistook to be a unit of Alliance soldiers. The snowmen were late to discover that the soldiers they killed were highly trained members of the Mercenary Army, who swore vengeance against the remaining snowmen. The Battle of the North Pole swung towards the Mobian Empire and Alliance.

The Mechas and General Grey's Empire were unfit for fighting the disciplined Mobian Imperial Guard and General Sturrn's brilliant strategies.

Although their situation appeared bleak, the Mcha Army held a final trump card they believed would spell certain doom for the Alliance, and Archangel M knew that it was time to use it.

Their secret weapon was an ancient ship used by the Mobian Empire's old enemy. It was the Death Egg, filled to the brim with robot soldiers and laser cannons that could bombard Earth with impunity.

Battle of Kanthros
As the war in the North Pole raged, and the rest of the planet began to breath a little easier, the Corvolt Imperium's invasion carrier entered Alliance-controlled space. Their leader, Admiral Sun, made plans on how to best strike the Earth.

One of the Corvolt leaders noticed a sizable Alliance presence on a planet called Kanthros. The Alliance forces on Kanthros, backed by the Kanthrosian Miltiary, were already mobilising for deployment to Earth.

They were caught by surprise when the Corvolt military attacked in force. Though the Kanthrosian Military fought with everything they had, they and the Alliance forces were no match for the massive orbital bombardments and sheer number of Corvolt troops. Kanthros's government officially surrendered to Admiral Sun.

The Winter Soldier Army[]

Earth's ground war continued raging as the full weight of Alliance forces crashed wit hthe Mecha Army, while the Mercenaries continued destroying waht remained of the snowmen.

Another military group using Rebellion-era tech, the Winter Army, made a move against the Mercenary Army. This resulted in a three-way engagement.

The Mobian Alliance, Mobian Empire and Team Firefox continued advancing through the Mecha Army's lines. Soldiers died by the thousands. As this went on, the combined fleets sought to deestroy the Mecha fleet and their massive Death Egg.

Additional relief for the Alliance arrived in the form of the Japanese Defence Force's navy, and their combined power overwhelmed the Mechas.

North Pole, Meet Death Egg[]

When Archangel M knew his cause was a lost one, he ordered his subordinates to crash the Death Egg into the North Pole with the hope of crushing the Alliance in his final moments.

The Death Egg's collision with the North Pole likely caused environmental problems for the planet as a whole, but the obvious damage at hand was represented in the loss of hundreds of thousands of Alliance personnel.

Many Alliance heroes survived, such as General Sturnn, Commissar Yarrick, Mike Rugar and Commander Storm. Archangel's efforts failed to destroy the Alliance, and the Mecha Army remnants retreated yet again. And though the Death Egg's destruction also destroyed a vast number of the snowmen, they stubbornly fought on.

A Wolfish Entrant[]

With their leadership and production capabilities mostly destroyed, the snowmen resorted to using ambush tactics against the remnants of their enemies in the North Pole. The Alliance's victory was short lived, as Mecha Army forces struck at various places across the planet.

Archangel M was discovered to be alive, licking his wounds. He contacted his brother, JDR, who led a massive terrorist faction known as the Violet Wolf Army. JDR assisted in the Mecha fleet's reconstruction and some new additions, primarily in the form of additional Death Eggs.

Preparing For The End
The Corvolet Imperium saw the ongoing war on Earth and decided to strike while the incessant fighting weakened Alliance forces. Their leadership contacted the Violet Wolf and Mecha armies in hopes of forming a coalition, and the effort was a success.

During this time, resistance movements still held ground on Kanthros and the mighty invasion carrier remained behind to subjugate the planet. Admiral Sun sent a formidable detachment of spaceships to assist in invading Earth.

The Alliance heard distress signals emanating from Kanthros and began to assemble their remaining fleets in Earth's orbit. Knowing that the Solar System was going to be hit by the largest invasion force in it's known history, Mike Rugar ordered large scale evacuation to move as many civilians as possible out of the Solar System. The final conflict of the First Great War was upon them.

Space II: Electric Boogaloo[]

Before the invasion even began, the Mechas deployed a new biological weapon against the Japanese Defense Forces, which crippled and killed crew throughout their ships and replaced them with Mecha cyborgs.

An Alliance baording party captured one of the Corvolt Imperium's ships for study. With no more time to prepare, the Alliance fleet threw themselves against the approaching Corvolt/Mecha fleet.

The battle was more intense than any fought previously, with the Corvolt ships outclassing even the Alliance's powerful vessels. Archangel M, who hungered for vengeance, boarded Mike Rugar's command ship. They battled one-on-one while the rest of the Corvolt and Alliance forces battled.

Even though the Corvolts were winning, the commander of their fleet had another ace up her sleeve. She used The Signal, a subliminal message weapon that, when transmitted through regular communications channels, caused the listener(s) to hallucinate horribly as they were destroyed in both mind and body. It was highly dangerous a sound-based weapon.

When Storm the Fox received a hail aboard the captured Mecha ship, he opened a channel to the main Corvol command ship. He was met with the Signal broadcast into his ship, killing his crew. He and a single Spartan soldier were the only survivors. The pair decided to use the ship to attack the Corvolt command vessel.

Two independent pilots who flew stolen Empire prototype ships sided with the Alliance. With a lucky shot from a tactical nuclear bomb, they disabled the Signal generator on the command ship. In a beautiful one-two punch, Storm's ship shot it's own nuclear device into the ship's bridge, destroying the ship, it's commander, and several other Corvolt ships.

Corvolt On Earth[]

The Corvolts finally hit planet-side, and battled the small Alliance remnant. Exhausted, the defenders were overwhelmed. The Mobian Empire's Imperial Guard, outnumbered and outgunned, withdrew from the Solar System. When they returned to the Mobius System, Sturnn and Yarrick delivered a report to the Emperor himself regarding the Corvolt threat. Earth was deemed lost.

The Japanese space force brought out a new battleship, the Musashi, to engage the Corvolt space fleet. With the Corvolt command ship destroyed and the rest of the fleet left in a state of confusion, it was briefly believed that the defenders of Earth had won the space battle.

Collective hopes were dashed as the Corvolt invasion carrier, recently finished subjugating kanthros, arrived on the scene. It was, at the time, the largest space vessel in recorded history, and the fleets accompanying it outnumbered the remaining Alliance space forces five to one.

It was than that the Alliance's commanding officers understood they were finished. Continuing to battle the Corvolts was suicidal, and the Alliance began retreating. Mike Rugar withdrew himself from his battle against Archangel M and evacuated what remained of his crew.

Snowmen Destruction And Alpha Retreat[]

Back on Earth, the snowmen saw the Alliance forces being overwhelmed by the Corvolt Imperium and believed they would be the victors in the end. The Mecha Army proved them wrong by destroying all of them on Christmas Day. Any survivors were hunted down with ruthlessness.

The Alpha Force's fleets withdrew, but they made one final effort to cripple destroy the Corvolt invasion carrier. They decided to load an attack ship with brave soldiers, volunteers all, and sent it out. The attack ship broke through the Corvolt lines, crashing into the invasion carrier.

Though desperate and full of valour, the move proved futile and all for naught. Numberless Corvolt forces met the Alpha Force's boarding party and destroyed them. Only their commanding officer, Starry, escaped the Corvolt wrath.

The Japanese Space Force retreated to the planet so that Colonel Giko would live to fight another day. The Alliance fled through a gateway portal with Team Firefox in tow, and destroyed it to seal off their retreat.

The Aftermath[]

Earth suffered numerous civilian casualties during the battles on Earth, and less than 50% of the population was evacuated before the Corvolt Imperium's invasion forces struck. Estimates indicated over 40 million earthlings, human and non-human, civilian and military, perished during the First Great War. This number excludes the allied and enemy forces who arrived from other worlds.

The only dominant factions that remained on the Earth in the aftermath were the Mecha, Violet Wolf, Winter and Highlander Armies, along with the Corvolt Imperium. They reorganised into a planetary government called the Terran Dominion.

Earth's defenders would not rest until the Terran Dominion and it's Corvolt masters were dethroned. But for a while, Earth was officially conquered.

An Account of the Second Great War[]

Post Great War I Era[]

The Dark Year[]

The year that followed the First Great War's conclusion, known as the Dark Year, was one of the darkest ever recorded. For the first time in human history, the entire Earth was under the occupation of a hostile force.

The humans that did not evacuate prior to the Second Battle for Earth found themselves "processed" by the Corvolt occupation force, simply known as the Civil Protection, or Overwatch, headed by the calm but maniacal Doctor Breen.

Xenophobia Amok[]

Gasmask wearing troops patrolled the planet, striking terror into the hearts of the populace. But for all of the tragedies that humans suffered, the Mobians suffered tenfold in what is now called the Second holocaust.

Corvolts, genetically modified humans, held a deep hatred for anthropomorphism, especially in Mobians. A great number were shot or transported to death camps. Those Mobians spared were forced into slave labor. Many Mobians refused to work for Earth's occupiers and preferred death.

Resistance[]

Earth's citizens heavily opposed the Corvolt Imperium, and despite being crushed, processed and heavily depleted, many of them took to forming resistance movements which appeared on every continent.

Most of the movements were ruthlessly destroyed, but several held on for a considerable length of time.

The nation of Kuradia, led by Commander Garrick Armisael Firehand, was perhaps the most violent of the anti-Corvolt resistance forces. They had a strong military consisting of thousands of troops and vehicles and a powerful navy.

Kuradian units launched several successful strikes against the Corvolt Imperium, destroying supply bases while using napalm weapons against Corvolt troops. Corvolt Army and Overwatch troops and officers were executed publicly on Kuradian soil.

Silent Ceasefire[]

Corvolt attempts to nuke Kuradia were intercepted and shot down by the Kuradian air force. Enraged, the Kuradians shot a large MIRV missile at City 4 in response, destroying most of it, the Corvolt Overwatch personnel inside of it, and many of the processed civilians.

This series of actions resulted in the "Silent Ceasefire", wherein the Corvolts ceased their offensives against Kuradia for a time. A full scale invasion was planned which would have used the powerful invasion carrier, but it was never implemented.

Pangaea[]

World War III and the First Great War caused terrible damage to Earth's surface, to the point where parts of the main continents broke off, becoming "continents" themselves. Geologists named one such "continent" 'Pangaea' due to it's position in the northern hemisphere.

With the resources contained in the soil, the Corvolt Imperium believed it would be the perfect place to establish their headquarters. With combined human and Mobian slave labour, Pangaea was turned into the Terran Dominion's fortress in less than a year's time.

The Corvolt had no interest in naming their cities, and numbered them instead. City 1 was built from prefabricated buildings stored on the invasion carrier, and became the Dominion's seat of government.

Cities 2 and 3 were constructed in a similar manner, but mainly housed civilians. Other cities like New Japan and Nova Prospeckt were also build. Pangaea's title of fortress continent was soon to be put to the test, as it was set to become the focal point for the Second Great War.

The League of Free Worlds[]

The Mobian Alliance was finished, most of it's military power crushed in the Corvolt invasion, it's space fleet decimated from teh Second Battle of Earth. Nevertheless, supreme commander Mike Rugar was determined to retake Earth.

The retreat to the outer colonies became the breeding ground for the largest unified galactic army ever assembled at the time. Some say the outer colonies never have and never will ban together with each other and other galactic entities for a single purpose.

The Mobian Alliance, reformed, became the powerful but temporary League of Free Worlds. It consisted of Alpha Force, the Mobian Empire, and surviving Alliance forces, which were bolstered by numerous new recruits from the Outer Colonies.

The Emperor of Mobius gathered an expeditionary force of over one million Imaginary soldiers and many armoured companies for the League. Alpha led the entire Alpha Force in support of the League. Earth would be avenged.

Mike Rugar, Commander Alpha, General Sturnn and Commissar Yarrick, the League's top bras, spent long hours discussing their invasion of earth. Resistance efforts against the Dominion on Earth were common, and many transmissions reached League headquarters concerning Pangaea among other aspects of Corvolt infrastructure.

Destroying their seat of government would throw the entire Corvolt armada into disarray, and Admiral Sun was made a primary target. With twelve months of planning, the League was prepared to launch an attack, codenamed Operation Sleeping Dragon.

Operation Sleeping Dragon[]

An attack against Dominion forces would surely destroy the League, as even with their massive military and navy, the League was still heavily outnumbered. It was decided that ground units would be inserted in a series of stealth missions.

Draco Strife and Metal-Geo, self-proclaimed "heroes" of the First Great War, became part of a special, elite Mobian light infantry unit, the Pathfinders. The Pathfinders were responsible for destroying the main weapon factories in Groznia Grad, which produced Corvolt weaponry and vehicles, and troops for the Mecha Army. The destruction of the factories crippled the Terran Dominion's supply lines.

Other nations opposing the Corvolt were contacted. The JDF's Colonel Giko was on standby, and the nation of Kuradia still stood. Two mercenary factions, the Iron Brotherhood and Mercenary Army, also held their ground.

The Mercenaries seized the town Felucia and ran guerilla strikes against the Dominion, as the Pathfinders were inserted during a lapse in Corvolt patrols and worked their way to South Brunswick. Alpha Force troops quietly entered and assembled near Malark Island.

Commander Storm and Team Firefox had set up their remaining forces in the Mobian Desert, on Pangaea's southwestern side. They launched many raids against Dominion convoys passing through their area. Suited to their harsh environment, Firefox caused heavy Dominion losses and suffered light casualties.

Garrick's Folly[]

Garrick's Kuradians took a more overt stance, pushing for open conflict with the Corvolt Imperium at every turn. This led to one of the most disastrous engagements in the entire war. Garrick ordered a full-scale attack on City 1. The heavily entranched Corvolt army opened fire on approaching Kuradian ships, causing many to be destroyed in seconds.

Garrick's battleship escaped intact, though heavily crippled, and thousands of Kuradian personnel did in the attack. Although chastised by his own government, Garrick retained command of the army, regrouping Kuradian forces and resuming guerilla strikes against Dominion targets, while establishing landing zones for Free World dropships.

The Mercenary/Iron Brotherhood War[]

The Iron Brotherhood and Mercenary Army had a close relationship in the beginning, with many personnel knowing or having familial relations with members of the other faction. The bliss came to a crashing halt when the Iron Brotherhood's leadership accepted an offer to join the Terran Dominion in exchange for wealth and territory.

A number of Mercenaries were killed shortly after the IB announced their new allegiance, resulting in the start of the conflict known as the Mercenary-Iron Brotherhood War.

The enraged Mercenaries launched many suicidal attacks against IB positions and strongholds, uncaring of the consequences, determined to achieve vengeance in the name of honour. The IB quickly capitalised on the Mercenary Army's situation, until Commander John Jacques ordered his army to cease attacking and t oregroup around Felucia.

With their act together, the Mercenary Army waged a proper war against the Iron Brotherhood, and the two factions almost exclusively fought each other for the remainder of the larger conflict.

The Battle for Malark Island[]

The Dominion intended for Malark Island to house Mobian slaves. The island's bridges were closely guarded by Overwatch troops, and there was almost no way to escape. Many mobians attempted using boats or crossing bridges, but were cut down.

Escape attempts were punished by executing many members of the Mobian citizenry, regardless of their involvement. Malark was home to many atrocities before it became the sight of one of the bloodiest battles in the war.

Alpha Force regrouped around Malark, hoping to free slaves and occupy the town as a base of operations. But Mecha Army, Winter Army and Overwatch forces counterattacked almost immediately.

Bolstered by reinforcements from Kuradia and the League of Free Worlds, the Alpha Force believed they could succeed. However, the Corvolt Army realised the scale of the threat and ordered a large force to attack and destroy Malark and the League troops fighting there.

Malark Stalemate[]

The full weight of the LFW and TD pressed on Malark, and the battle became a stalemate. While both sides tried out maneuvering and out-powering each other, neither gained any advantage.

One such incident was Operation Malta Offense, masterminded by Archangel M. The Mecha Army distracted the LFW while the Highlanders circled the eastern side of the island towards the southern end to cut off LFW reinforcements. The Highlanders were spotted and many of their personnel killed, so while the distraction allowed the Dominion to gain lost ground, it was a temporary reprieve and did not yield any advantages.

Substance Use & Collateral Damage[]

The Corvolts used combat enhancing drugs on their rank-and-file soldiers to transform them into killing machines, and the enraged, doped up soldiers killed amny LFW troops. The Violet Wolf Army also used biochemical weaponry against the LFW, primarily prioritising the Mobian Imperial Guard. Kurdian and LFW forces countered using cruise missiles from orbit.

Mobian civilians were often caught in the line of fire, and though most of the Mobians in Malark preferred death to enslavement, collateral damage was horrendous. Rescue attempts by Alpha and League troops freed a few refugees. The lucky ones escaped off-world, bust most remained in League and Kuradian bases.

Firefox Breaks The Stalemate[]

Firefox forces finally established their air defense network, which nullified Dominion air forces for the time being. The network was a primary Dominion target, so a heavy concentration of LFW troops and armour were stationed at each site.

The Dominion's own anti-air halted some League air strikes, but was not as effective. Dominion forces suffered heavy losses and were largely forced into a ground war.

Escalation[]

The Kuradians sensed weakness and launched a full cruise missile bombardment onto the Dominion forces, using specially developed warheads. Conventional missiles struck the Winter, Highlander and Violet Wolf armies. EMP missiles hit the Mecha Army. A bioweapon called Deavolium, containing a special virus targetting Corvolt DNA, was unleashed on the Corvolt troops.

Alpha and Firefox missile strikes also opened huge gaps in Dominion lines. The League's top brass frownd upon the incessant missile strikes, due to collateral damage reaching it's peak, but the strikes proved effective.

Non-stop fighting continued for nearly a month until the Dominion was forced out of Malark. The Corvolts attempted sealing the invaders onto Malark, with nuclear weapons shot in the hopes of defeating the LFW in it's totality. LFW and Kuradian aircraft intercepted and destroyed the nukes.

The Dominion held it's blockade, but more LFW dropsites were utilised throughout various parts of Pangaea, and the Dominion lines thinned as the casualties for both sides reached into the millions.

Covert Missions and Continued Merc/IB Bloodshed[]

South Brunwick Gambit[]

During the battle, Draco Strife and Metal Geo's 13th Pathfinders finally reached South Brunswick while it was still occupied by Overwatch forces. With assistance from town residents, the Pathfinders found positions in various buildings and ambushed the Overwatch troops in one large scale attack.

Overwatch retaliation was not the Pathfinders' only concern, as a Corvolt reinforcement battalion was inbound to reinforce. Draco hatched a quick plan, which required the forced acquisition of Overwatch uniforms, weapons and vehicles. The entire town's population was vacated through the sewers while the roads were mined above.

Draco, dressed as an enemy officer, informed the Corvolt battalion that the Overwatch were in retreat from a heated battle in S. Brunwick. The fooled battalion advanced, and were met with minefields and rigged buildings.

Groznia Sabotage[]

The Pathfinders made their way into Groznia Grad, an important and heavily guarded industrial city. Their intent was to destroy key factories: The Corvolt's frame factory, the Mecha and Violet Wolf armies' manufacturing factory, a bio-weapon production facility, and the Corvolt Imperium's main weapon production plant.

Collateral damage was anticipated, as each factory was staffed with Mobian slave labour. The Pathfinders split into teams of ten troops each, and attacked each target. All facilities were protected by Overwatch troops, except the main weapons facility, defended by Corvolt army troops.

This heavily resembled a suicide mission, but Draco and Geo were known for their incredible luck, and the loss of a single factory would further cripple the Dominion war effort.

Geo led Team 1 against the main weapon facility, Draco led Team 2 to the frame factory, and Teams 3 and 4 were headed by Pathfinder sergeants against the bio-weapon plant and Mecha/VW Army factory respectively. The disguised teams infiltrated their targets easily, but Draco's team entered into a firefight with guards in the main facility after witnessing an execution of Mobian slave workers. An alert was sounded, and all four teams were engaged.

Team 3 was overrun without setting their charges, whereas Team 4 set their charges and went down in a heroic last stand. Team 1 returned to their APC, with only Geo and two soldiers alive. Draco escaped with his troops and several Mobian slaves, stealing a Corvolt frame in the process.

Draco's usage of the frame allowed Geo and his squad to escape, and he activated the frame's self destruction before he and his own squad slipped away into the sewers.

Mercenary Bloodshed[]

Groznia Grad was largely destroyed by the detonation, which could be seen from Malark Island. News of the explosions brought a huge morale boost to the LFW troops, who did not grasp the scope of the civilian lives lost.

Dominion weapons production was stalled for months, and never reached the level it once had. Of the 40 pathfinders who accompanied Draco and Geo, only five reached the drop point. The Mobian slaves Draco rescued were quickly shipped to the Outer Colonies.

The Merc-Iron War escalated as both factions, fuelled by anger, threw themselves into each other's sights. The Iron Brotherhood established death camps to publicly torture and execute captured Mercenaries. These death camps became main targets for Merc troops, who launched rapid attacks, liberating as many POWs as possible.

Desire for vengeance was so great that liberated Mercenaries returned to the front lines in less than a day, many of them instrumental in continued raids against death camps.

Their tactics were drastically different, the Iron Brotherhood using head-on blitzkrieg tactics with large numbers of conventional soldiers and vehicles, while the Mercenary Army, with their lack of numbers, preferred guerilla warfare with higher-tech weapons.

On the front lines, both sides were locked in bitter stalemate, but the people of Felucia were willing to join the Mercenaries. The Iron Brotherhood's numbers were bleeding the Merc Army dry, and a solution would have to surface.

Steady Reinforcements[]

The Outer Colonies continuously reinforced depleted LFW units from the secured Malark Island. Kuradian troops arrived frequently from their home country. Colonel Giko's JDF readied for war in New Japan.

LFW Supreme Commander Mike Rugar and the top brass concluded that City 3 had to be taken before an attack on City 1's Dominion headquarters could be enacted. Intelligence indicated the Dominion knew they were coming, and there was no alternative. Many soldiers would die before the Dominion gave ground.

Operation Sea Dragon[]

Code-named Operation Sea Dragon, Kuradian, Alpha, Firefox and JDF battleships, submarines, and ground troops made an amphibious landing into City 3 from the west and southeast. LFW and Alpha troops invaded from the west, whil JDF and Kuradian troops took the southeast sector.

On the Dominion front, Admiral Sun and his subordinates discussed the LFW incursion. In all of the Corvolt Imperium's history, they had never dealt with a foe of this calibre. Sun pulled reserves from the invasion carrier in support of City 3's defense, vowing that no soldiers would leave City 3 until every League soldier was dead.

September 1, 20XX, at 0500, the attack began. Cruise missiles filled with different warheads rained down on City 3, sending citizens scrambling for cover. Shocked Dominion forces manned their positions. Amphibious landing ships moved against the docks and beaches, much like the D-Day landings in World War Two.

Some landing ships were destroyed in the opening waves, but sheer numbers ensured that many LFW made their landings. Dominion troops rained fire down onto the beaches and dockyards, killing scores of League soldiers in mere seconds.

Beach and dock defenses were primary targets, and specialised troopers used laster pointers to accurately target Dominion strong-points, sending accurate cruise missile fire onto them. Beachheads on both flanks were secured after a full day of fighting.

Push Through City 3

League forces struck with a fury that scared even the combat-stimmed Corvolt forces. Despite horrendous casualties from urban warfare, League troops pushed inch by inch and yard by yard into City 3. The air campaign intensified, with Emobian Empire eagle gunships and League wraith fighters battling Corvolt deathwings and Dominion air superiority fighters.

Both sides resorted to carpet bombing and cruise missiles, causing collateral damage to mount. Dead bodies and wrecked robots littered the streets. Despite immense reserves and a fanatically devoted army, the Dominion was on the defensive and slowly pushed out of the city. Four weeks after Operation Sea Dragon, the League controlled two thirds of City 3.

Admiral Sun ordered the invasion carrier's crew to turn the ship's main weapons on City 3, and refused to allow the League to gain ground, lest City 1 be placed in jeopardy. Nearly three fourths of the city were destroyed in the bombardment, killing numerous LFW and Dominion personnel.

League forces were intimidated, but Commissar Yarrick rallied the survivors and led a final charge through the ruins. Many more League soldiers fell to Dominion weapons, but the commissar's actions led to the deaths of hundreds of Dominion troops and robots in retaliation. The defenders were routed into a full retreat back to City 1, and the Mobian Empire declared Commissar Yarrick the Hero of the Empire.

The Dominion and League of Free Worlds lost millions of personnel.

The Mercenaries Victorious[]

The Merc/IB War reached it's peak when the Brotherhood pushed the Mercenaries back toward Felucia. It became clear that if the Mercs did not receive relief, the IB would win. The League committed it's entire array of resources to fighting in Malarky and City 3, and could spare none.

One group was willing: Team Firefox. Having fought the Corvolt Imperium's occupation for so long, they had mapped the entire desert. Whn Storm heard the IB was moving into the Mobian Desert, he ordered Firefox to retreat into the desert, despite Mike Rugar's protests.

Commanders John and Carlos planned a desperate defense in Felucia, where the Merc Army would make a final stand. They had nearly resorted to drafting civilians when Storm contacted them. A new plan was devised where the Mercs would hold Felucia while Firefox launched a surprise attack on the IB's left flank, prior to a Merc counter-attack. The intention was to divide, confuse, and destroy the Brotherhood.

Team Firefox contacted their hidden facilities in the desert to prepare for battle, and Storm withdrew his forces from the destroyed City 3. IB's leadership hoped to put an end to the IB-Merc war once and for all. They bet most of the Iron Brotherhood's combat personnel into the offensive. Transmissions from Corvolt HQ in City 1 ordered the IB to withdraw to the city for the upcoming defense, but the IB refused and pushed into the desert.

The Iron Brotherhood began with a massive bombardment with their 88s and planes. Firefox-supplied anti-air Giridia-o tanks devastated many incoming aircraft, though several parts of Felucia were destroyed by the 88 cannons.

IB tanks and infantry charged into Felucia with orders to kill every civilian there regardless of affiliated. The Mercenaries were prepared, and opened up, destroying many tanks and soldiers within seconds. The Mercenary Army, 7,500 strong, held during the desperate battle, but the 15,000 IB personnel were twice their number.

The IB pounded at the diminishing defenders, but a Firefox tank and infantry combined arms force led by Storm assaulted straight into IB. The powerful Firefox Scorpion tanks destroyed the IB's inferior Di-Cokka tanks in droves, and the Firefox troops, well-suited to desert terrain, provided accurate weapons fire.

John and Carlos ordered an advance. The newly-divided and intimidated Iron Brotherhood was beset by Mercenary tanks and troops, and fell into a retreat, with thousands of their soldiers already dead. Mercenary-Firefox forces pursued, and the desert-suited Firefox vehicles cut them off, catching the Iron Brotherhood in a pincer.

The IB's leadership surrendered, and Storm moved to accept. However Carlos, John and the Mercenaries refused, and killed all of them in the name of honor. Not a single Iron Brotherhood soldier or officer caught in their sights survived the battle. The few surviving IB managed a retreat into City 1 to aid the Dominion's defense, but the faction never recorded from their losses.

Operation Broken Spirit[]

With the Mercenaries and Team Firefox back on the front line, Mike, Storm, John, Alpha, Garrick, Giko, Sturnn and Yarick made plans for what was to be the concluding Battle for the Earth. They wished to completely destroy City 1's Dominion headquarters.

Sturnn and Yarrick demanded to be the first to launch long range bombardments into City 1 for the sake of all Mobians the Corvolts had killed. Mike Rugar granted them the honor, due to the valour they displayed when taking City 3.

In City 1's Dominion control palace, Admiral Sun was furious that his soldiers and the invasion carrier's main cannons failed to stop the advancing League. Berating the other officers for their incompetence, he said that if they failed defending City 1, they would all be executed. The Corvolt Imperium did not tolerate weak allies.

As a demonstration, Sun had the Iron Brotherhood commanders killed for disobeying orders to withdraw to City 1. Archangel M, JDR and RFZ understood this was their final stand against the League.

If the League continued winning despite insurmountable odds, and the Corvolt army kept being pushed to it's limits, how was it possible to escape with their own armies intact?

Sun did not like being on the defensive. For the first time in his life, he faced an enemy that was besting him, and he could not allow them to succeed. Deciding the best defense was a good offense, he pulled the invasion carrier's remaining reserves and ordered all of his forces and allies to launch a massive last ditch assault on League forces, intending to counter surprise with surprise.

Dubbed it Operation Broken Spirit, Sun launched his assault on the dawn of November 4th. The League ended up on the defensive as tens of thousands of Corvolt soldiers and vehicles, backed by thousands of allied personnel, charged into LFW lines.

Fighting continued for days, the first day alone costing nearly 50,000 LFW soldiers their lives, with thousands of new losses every subsequent day. The largest tank battle in recorded history took place on the open plains. League mechs and tanks square off with Dominion tanks and the remainder of the Corvolt frame legions. The MIG Champion Titans crushed many Dominion soldiers underneath their massive feet, blasting away many Corvolt frames. At the end of the third day, the plains were littered with wreckage.

The tide turned when the Kuradians and JDF launched massive aerial battleships that pounded advancing Dominion troops. Corvolt ships brought into low orbit to counter them were destroyed by LFW ships. Their massive wrecks remain there to this day, visible from the Provitotank Hill and Silent Plains. On the defensive again, the Dominion retreated back into City 1. Total LFW casualties were around 300,000 dead and many more wounded.

Battle of City 1[]

Despite their losses, Rugar knew that if they did not press their attack, the Corvolt would have time to regroup and possibly launch a counter-offensive. He ordered the siege to begin. The Mobian Imperial Guard commenced bombardment on November 10th, and City 1's powerful defensive structures returned fire.

Many Imaginary Hedgehog project troopers fell, and Yarrick and Sturnn refused to cease the artillery fire. Garrick brought his battleships into low orbit to fire onto the city. On his orders, a massive firestorm of cruise missiles hit the city, every last one was used.

The Deavolium missiles killed many Corvolt defenders outright, weakening the defense further. The Imperial Guard broke down the city's defensive walls, and the League armies entered. Thousands of them fell in the attack, but the Dominion soldiers, scattered and disorganised by the incessant bombing and urban fighting, were unable to mount a substantial defense.

The Highlander, Mecha, Winter and Violet Wolf armies slipped out of City 1, leaving the Corvolt to their fate. The Control Palace was sacked. Dr.Breen, captured by League troops, was summarily executed. Admiral Sun fled to the invasion carrier. After three days of fighting for the city, the League of Free Worlds raised their flag over City 1's broken palace.

News of their victory spread. The Earth rose up in open revolt against the Corvolt occupiers, and thousands of them fell every day. While Admiral Sun and the invasion carrier retreated towards the black hole they came from, the Earth's population was freeing itself in mass.

The Final Battle for Sol[]

Though the Corvolt fleet's retreat made victory seem absolute, Mike Rugar was worried. He determined that Sun musn't be allowd to escape, lest he reach Corvolt territory and return with a fleet and army large enough to wipe out Earth and the Outer Colonies.

Though the Corvolt fleet outnumbered the LFW's by 3-1, the Earth and Colonies were at stake and they were willing to pay the price.

The LFW allied fleet consisted of the League's own fleet, the Firefox Navy, Mobian Imperial Navy and Alpha Force Navy. Rugar lead the charge in the super dimensional fortress Macross, in the long chase after the invasion carrier. Due to it's slow speed, the carrier was caught by the fleet.

Commander Alpha came up with a plan, suggesting a re-attempt of what he failed to achieve in the First War, boarding and fighting through the invasion carrier itself. Macross held five times as many troops as the Alpha fleet's flagship, and Mike agreed.

Macross was designated to act as a huge battering ram to deliver their army inside the behemoth, the rest of the fleet escorting the Macross in.

The LFW fleet caught up with the Corvolts near Mars. Sun ordered the Corvolt navy to destroy the League fleet, Mike had Macross go radio silent to prevent the Corvolts from using their dreaded signal attack. This was the Final Battle for Sol.

Mars's surface dwellers saw bright laser fire emit from ships in the sky. The League Navy held their formation, though many escort ships were targeted and destroyed by powerful Corvolt turbolaser and torpdo batteries, combined with the dreaded Signal.

The Corvolts soon caught on that the ships targeting the Macross were themselves targeted and destroyed. Admiral Sun ordered it destroyed, and it gunned the engines and shields to maximum as the fleet punched through the Corvolt battle line. Halfway through, they took nearly 40% losses.

The Macross took heavy damage, but the afterburners ensured it breached the invasion carrier's massive hull, despite taking hits from the carrier's main batteries. Troops stored in the Macross charged inwards, engaging Corvolt guards. The first waves of LFW marines died to powerful interior defensive measures, but the League refused to give in.

Wearing his custom battle armour, Mike Rugar led the League troops, who, coupled with the majority of Alpha Force, took down the demoralised Corvolt troops with ease. Using schematics developed by Alpha Force, the League knew where to go. Admiral Sun, seeing that flight was now impossible, donned his personal battle armour, readied his elite guards, and prepared to kill Mike Rugar.

Mike separated from League troops and found that the command bridge was empty, except for Sun, who sent his bodyguards to fight off the marines. Rugar charged Sun, but found that Sun's suit was twice as strong. His lance began cutting Mike's armour to ribbons, and the Corvolt leader was about to deliver a final blow when Mike unleashed his full potential. Deep down inside, whether natural or artificial, he contained a hidden power. It transformed him into Mecha Mike, who's raw power cut Sun to pieces.

Despite the gun turrets, manhack drones and Corvolt guards, the League troops successfully placed charges in the reactor room. They fell back towards the Macross, boarding it and discovering Mike had already reached the hangar. The Macross left the carrier and reached the minimal safe distance.

Admiral Sun's death brought chaos to the Corvolt lines, and the coordinated offensive against the nearly depleted League navy fell apart. The invasion carrier's generator, which was designed to make the black hole stable for transport, exploded. The explosion was so powerful that it was seen from Earth, and it's destruction trapped the Corvolt fleet's remnants inside the Solar System. The Corvolt remnants broke and fled, ending the war.

The Aftermath[]

An estimated thirty million League troops died in the war against the Terran Dominion. The Corvolt Imperium was crushed in the months the League spent clearing Earth and Kanthros of Corvolt troops. Dominion casualties ranged around fifty million. Civilian casualties ranged into the hundreds of millions, and many civilians resented the League for their extensive collateral damage.

Draco Strife disappeared after the successful space battle near Mars. Some say Geo killed him, others that he became a bounty hunter, but there were no confirmed sights of him since. Metal-Geo took time off to get away from the troubles of war, but soon became the CEO of a major weapons manufacturer.

Kuradia hailed Garrick as a national hero. The Mobian Empire gave the same status to Commissar Yarrick and General Sturnn in a formal ceremony in the Imperial capital on Mobius.

Commander Alpha and the near-destroyed Alpha Force assisted in the rebuilding efforts, and it took four years for them to rebuild their roster and equipment back to full strength.

Storm the Fox and Team Firefox withdrew to New Gabriel to rebuild their assets. Mike Rugar, known as the Hero of Earth, assumed control of the new provisional Earth government and it's reconstruction efforts. Admiral Sun's body, which Mike had taken back in the Macross for study inside a heavily secured facility in Bellevile.

Though the former Terran Dominion armies retreated into the shadows, they would return again.

Rise of the ADP and the battle against the Terran Dominion[]

Sw chapter 3

The Sound of The Police[]

The Advanced Police were created to maintain peace on the planet and in the outer colonies. The Mobian Empire denied their request to reinforce them with troops for the Advanced Police, and instead left secret listening posts behind with the mission of reporting any future outbreaks of war on Earth, which Emperor Shadow believed were inevitable.

The Terran Dominion's armies still had a presence on Earth, and Sturnn and Yarrick brought their battle fleet back to the planet when Sturnn was informed that the Violet Wolf Army was ruthlessly executing Mobians.

Raw Power[]

Yarrick struck into the VWA's heart in Ukraine, leading the charge as he had during the previous war. The VWA met the MIG with raw power, and JDR's new Onslaughterer mobile suit annihilated the Imperial forces and captured Yarrick. Sturnn was forced to retreat into orbit and await reinforcements.

Grand Campaign[]

(Info on the first 2 season will be copied from Shiki's post on the forums as a placeholder until more details can be added!)

Season 1[]

Started around 2007/8 the Grand campaign was meant to be a return to a more chaotic Eastern campaign setting but on a global scale and with no rules enforced to let players to have free reign. It was born on the old forum when some members moved there out of dislike for certain policies the admins had set regarding a certain member being mentioned, this of course caused some drama that was soon resolved and at the end the campaign was moved onto the new forum where it continued.

Starting out chaotically with many factions the game kicked off pretty well, with old favorites the Firefox returning, CE's Imperium faction and the debut of Solidus's paranormal SS based from the hellsing series that could go on to become a recurring faction in later games.

Things heated up when the imperium and its allies went to war on the Vampire SS army and it's insane leader the Major who had an obsession with warfare along with the infamous Cyber empire that wished to upgrade lifeforms to become more like them. During this time there was laughs, drama and action as we saw cybernetic soldiers, vampire nazis, evil robot copies of characters and more.

The game took a darker turn later on when a secretive faction known as the Circle of 15 hijacked the resources of the Cyber empire and manipulated them as a proxy army for some greater plan and discussions on a lost artifact known as the Starforge.

In the end the Cyber empire now known as the Machine Union launched an orbital weapon known as Ircus to destroy the Imperium's core tap causing massive disaster that sunk a chain of islands and changed the shape of the world. OOCly this caused a lot of drama but it was soon resolved as the players came to a compromise.

After the end a new neo soviet faction had known up known as the BHSU in order to offer there help and sympathies to the allies that had suffered a brutal blow in what was viewed as a rather epic speech to the world at large but from that day on the future we uncertain.

Season 2[]

Picking up where the first season left off the Imperium, Firefox, BHSU and their allies formed the Forge alliance and continued their fight with the Major, the Voltor Empire and the Machine Union in a series of brutal conflicts with no side letting up.

During this time a strange Mobian known as Merkirak showed up and started causing trouble, it was later found out he was an agent of a renegade shifter unit known as Faction IX who where contracted by the Circle of 15 to do work for them. Deciding to make their move the Circle of 15 or better known as Silver Eclipse came out of the shadows and took over the remains of the Machine Union. At this point the infamous MIG also made it's move, starting an attack against Firefox and the Imperium in there quest for Mobian supremacy.

Merkirak took a number of hostages and loaded a series of trains with nuclear materals against the wishes of his superiors and attempted to bait Storm whose hands where tied up with the battle with the MIG. The trains exploded taking out a number of US cities and leaving the nation in ruins where Faction IX moved in and turned it into a nation known as the commonwealth that would serve as the primary base for their masters Silver Ecilpse.

The current leader of SE made his appearance, a man known as Kuilen Felgard who was a survive of a time sensitive race known as the Worldbuilders or Arcadians. His plan was to create a trans-human empire that would span the multiverse, using Earth as his staging point. He also continued work on his new creation project in order to give people immortality.

Another faction also showed up lead by a man named McCoy who formed a cult based around Kuilen Felgard. It was around this time Kuilen met Cass and took him on as an apprentice.

After some saber rattling from the BHSU, Kuilen launched an invasion into Russia in order to silence them. Around this time his brother Ryic Blackrain, another surviving Worldbuilder showed up in LA and attempted to stop him, through failing in the process.

Reducing an old Worldbuilder timeship located in some ruins into a paradox machine, Kuilen tore a rift open to another era where a fleet of Starforges where stored that had the potential to create endless legions of ships and resources along with acting as a weapons system.

Due to rifts in the alliance Voltor's lord Victor became tired of Felgards games and attempted to assassinate him in order to unlock godly power. There was also a clash between Kuilen and the firefox CO Storm.

Around this time a faction known as Armex also appeared, offering an alliance to Kuilen. Little did he know they where playing him to get technology that would aid their twisted goals of reviving Terran purity.

At the end game, the factions gathered on the last Starforge lead by Storm, Garrick, Mike, Ryic, Kalash and others as they smashed their way through the forge. At the end Kuilen lost his nerves and surrendered before being gunned down by Merkirak who appeared to be working as an agent of discord.

Cass also had a fight with Kalash and Storm, wanting to protect the Starforge and it's resources for the betterment of mankind.

The starforge was then pulled into the void and everyone celebrated, minus Storm who decided to take his leave, feeling bitter about the whole experience.

Grand Campaign 3[]

Events of GC3 are a complicated matter due to the inter-dimensional chaos caused by the destruction of the West Universe in West season 6. Various fragments of the destroyed universe were preserved and sent into the GC timeline, more often than not completely replacing their native counterparts. Certain aspects of the West Universe came to coexist alongside their GC equivalents. One example was when the leader of the West timeline's FSA managed to take over the Grand Campaign's version of the Federal States of Armex and had the "real" Armex CEO executed. Other GC figures like Colonel Nexus and Sofia went into hiding while the West CEO transformed the already unpleasant FSA into the malevolent "NeoTerran Empire" it had become in the West timeline.

Other examples of cross-universal fuckery included the transportation of Dawson, Reed, Swayer, and several other figures from the Grand Alliance and resistance army, the complete erasure of the old United State military Federation in the USA, The Kugestaldt Republic Warships Nemo and Phantom Prime being shunted into the GC timeline while the native Kugels remain at war with the Lyvek, Hydronian remnants reaching GC earth after struggling through an interdimensional warp zone, the Liberators army gaining the Strike Witches program of their Western counterpart (and many of them acquiring memories of experiences from that timeline), sudden terraforming of a large section of Mars, and much more.

-Additional details to come later-

Global Campaign[]

Global Campaign 1[]

Nazis fought Axons in a duel of Germanic Aesthetics, the Liberalis Terra popped up all over the place, Briano went on a spirit quest and never came back, the Italian peninsula was controlled by a Vatican theocracy for a while, Worldbuilder antics resulted in 2 gotcha moments when the Nordic technocracy vanished from Great Britain, then Highlon industries arrived on the scene, only for it to turn out Highlon was a shell company for Terran Command, Esdaile kicked ass then got his ass kicked by the Barrister, some Steampunk blokes that warped onto Antarctica nearly ruined Axon's plans to stop a traitorous element of their fleet,a StarForge was involved in the final battle, oh, and the Rebel Army was along for the ride too.

Global Campaign 2[]

Esdaile was rescued, the Voltor invaded Africa and the Balkans, Okinawa was taken from the Liberalis by TF100, OOC drama blew up again, almost all of China is gone, Northern Eurasia got roboticized, many people leave Earth to find other places to live.

Global Campaign 3[]

Welcome to New World. We're in Space now because earth is a disaster area!

CHALLENGERS APPROACHING.

Also, anomalies are appearing in the Milky Way Galaxy and on Earth in the post-Terran Command era.

Eastern Campaign[]

Color Coated Campaign[]

Created with a lighthearted feel in mind to combat the darker and grittier Global Campaigns, Color Coated was set in "The Big City". Two Eggman Empire factions, played by Storm the Fox and MikeMurdock, attempted to invade the city. The Torridian nation, G.U.N. and militia, played by Dhalo, fought to protect it.

The White Knights, played by Ravener, sought to save civilians from the Eggman Empire's grasp. Shiki Scarlet's Pastel Army sought to cause havoc and killed a few Torridian soldiers. A division of Rebel Army troops showed up for a bit.

Color Coated lasted for over twenty comics and had impressive humor and action sequences, but did not attract many members because it occurred during SW's inactive downturn. Many of the veterans the campaign was designed to reach were unavailable for campaigning.

The Color Coated Campaign is technically unfinished, but DeltaHalo's campaign says that G.U.N. and the militia were forced out of the city, the Eggman Empire achieved city-wide domination, and Torridia, suffering a massive defeat, fled back to their home country in the desert.

Misc Campaigns[]

Byarli Ablaze[]

Set in the same universe as Global 3 and the Interstellar campaigns, Byarli Ablaze is about numerous factions fighting for a single Ankanian Imperialis colony located in deep space. Orks, Covenant, T'au, demons, Russians, and various other groups seek to dominate the planet.

Established by Mr.Nex, this campaign has primarily existed on Deviantart, and is slowly progressing.

Shitpost Campaign[]

A humorous sideshow campaign hosted mainly on DeviantArt, it involved a few members, including Storm Spotter Fox in what may be his last participation in a Sprite Wars Campaign.

Biohazard Campaign[]

A different kind of campaign, focused on lone characters and survival. The Resident Evil campaigns, especially 4, were the main source of influence. It was started by Kalash69 and run through early 2009. The unique backgrounds for the campaign have been archived, tough the custom infected sprites remain lost.

Unfinished/abandoned campaigns[]

Get The Thing[]

Get The Thing was a collaborative project designed to attract new players from the comic and image hosting website Smackjeeves. Set in a fictional desert region, players and factions fought for the right to lay claim to a single blue Chaos Emerald. StormSpotterFox, MikeMurdock, KekOps and Monstarules took part, but they did not attract any new players.

This was in part due to the desert region using sprites from multiple resources, which, combined with the high quality of Storm, Mike, Kek and Monstar's comics, would have intimidated any newcomers.

Trivia[]

In the conversation between Commander Evil and Storm the Fox, Storm's chosen name was Storm the Fox: Delicious Croissants. DeltaHalo shortened the name used in the conversation transcripts to just "Storm the Fox" for cleanliness sake.
