The Canadian Commonwealth is a faction controlled by TimberWolf in the Grand Campaign, starting with Season 4.

HistoryEdit

The seeds for the formation of the Commonwealth began shortly after Armex subjugated Britain and Ireland, and the Voltor took over Australia and New Zealand. When Queen Catherine's plane was shot down over the Atlantic, Canada realized the danger the remaining Royal Family, King William, his son's Princes Andrew and Edward, and daughter Princess Grace, were in. Immediately, a crack unit of Joint Task Force 2 agents was assembled, and secretly landed at Land's End, Cornwall. With the help of the remaining Royal Guard still loyal to the Crown and the last remaining Irish Republican Army cell in London, as well as a diversionary attack on an Armex base South of London by the mercenary Francis Kennedy Richardson, they managed to rescue the entire Royal Family along with all surviving members of the Royal Guard, IRA cell, and the JTF2 unit, and get them back to Canada safe and sound.

With most of the world plunged into bloody warfare, and most of the British Commonwealth member states destroyed or under extraterrestrial ownership, the Canadian government met with diplomats from South Africa, the Falkland Islands, and Malta, as well as governments in exile for Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. Through months of deliberation, during which the Maltese government withdrew due to mounting financial pressures trying to deal with rising waters in the Mediteranean, these Commonwealth members hammered out a series of reforms, first moving the center of Commonwealth power to Ottawa temporarily, with plans to eventually spread it across all member states. Several goals were decided on, among the top the liberation of Britain, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland, and immediate aid to Malta to help deal with the rising waters. The military also began a reform, slowly beginning to acquire a uniformity in equipment, vehicles, and weapons. By 2041, all Commonwealth members wear the same uniforms, use the same ships and transport planes, and have the same rank structure. Infantry-level weapons and special forces units are still unique, but many see that as a good thing.

With the recent invasion of Australia, the Australian government in exile has formed a new country, Free Australia, and quickly retained membership in the Commonwealth. With a new totalitarian Earth Federation now in control of Britain and Ireland, the situation may soon heat up into all-out war.

Crown Prince Andrew - Eldest son of the King. Leads the Regular Forces arm of the Royal Guard, The Crown's Own Commonwealth Lancers. Gifted with the first operational "lightsaber".

Honourary General Briano Barillaro, VC, CC - Creater and leader of The Liberators, despite having lived outside of the country for years, Briano still retains his Canadian citizenship, and has also qualified for a Commonwealth citizenship. If he ever comes home.

Special ForcesEdit

OverviewEdit

Special Forces units in the Commonwealth have a wholely unique structure. Although they are still organized on paper in specific units, in practice Special Forces personnel are allowed to be almost completely autonomous. Individual troops have the option to act alone or in groups, and are trained in all forms, both regular and unorthodox, of combat, and are meant to be masters of all weapons, vehicles, and equipment. Although under the "control" of the Commonwealth Special Operations Command (SCOC), in reality each unit is only given an outline of mission objectives, with the individual units themselves determining how to accomplish their mission. Individual units are allowed to choose their own unique weapons and equipment, giving them the ability to blend in with any other unit, or stick out like a sore thumb.
